    SnowEx?Rain x in snow

Well I guess I'm going to find out anyway but how does rain x work in a snowstorm?
I have driven my ix for 2 summers with no windshield wipers whatsoever but rain x and I am heading into winter, still with no wipers
I really did love the rain x no matter how hard it rained I could always see, almost had a problem being able to tell if it was raining on the highway
Now I plan to sell the jeep and drive the ix all winter, does rain x even work in a heavy snowstorm(I ski Colorado so I drive tword the storms)

And my wiper throws a circuit if they are on and on top of that both linkages are worn smooth so it doesn't even grab the wiper arm(excuses)

I would really like to hear from the people that have liked rain x...it seems people either love it or hate it, with few in between.

    i suggest fixing your wipers.

i have used rain x and i really like it. it isn't, however, a substitute for that system on your car.

Use Aquapel. It lasts far longer than rain x...but yea fix your wiper. Also no it will not work in heavy snow. It helps, but you're going to be blinded quite quickly.

Isn't this the same for everything?

Rain X works pretty well for me, but like other have said you should have working wipers too.

I use rain x washer fluid and like it. Seems to work as well as rain x as long as you actually use the washers.

And rain x is definitely not a substitute for snow OR rain. Driving without wipers is just stupid. Get them fixed.

And before you say "I could see just fine!" Realize that you can't see how much you couldn't see until you were able to see clearly. Someone who needs glasses doesn't realize what they are missing until they get glasses.

Go find yourself a junkyard and get a new set up. Or monowiper conversion!

I'm not sure which I'd rather be doing... Isn't the wiper under the blower motor? I had to do my blower motor a while ago and it sucked...

i am thinking it is just the motor super seized up that blows the fuse and it doesn't look to hard to get it out(only 3 bolts right)

the super crappy part is the fact that the pivot that holds the wiper arm is completely stripped of its gears, but I may just jb weld them back together and hope no one ever notices

and screw you for putting the mono wiper back in my head....it just looks so nice on a e190 why cant I have one

Problem is rain x wont get the crud that comes along with snow off your windshield. You will need wipers and sprayers.

Also, I just wax my windshields. Works great.

replace the linkage. it's actually not that bad, just remove the intake manifold first, then you'll have tons of room. definitely do not drive in snow with no wipers, the thing about snow is it sticks to things, rainx works by increasing the surface tension of your windshield so the water just rolls off. plus, all the dirt/sand as other people said.

Agreed with everyone above, just fix it, it's a bitch but I knocked it out in a couple hours in my driveway. I have some pics in my build thread, and I imagine there's some DIY's around if you look. I didn't remove the intake manifold but I did take out all of the blower motor housing & that allowed a lot of room to get the linkage out (more) easily. Buy new wiper dampers, I bet they're shot too, I still need to replace mine.

Oh, and I've got a spare bedroom, if you wanna ride Winter Park this winter let me know.

RainX has a reactive chemical that will react with the hydroxyl groups on the glass. These hydroxyl groups form hydrogen bonds with water to make the water stick to glass. By deactivating these hydroxyl groups, the water has nothing to grasp on; thus rolling off the glass.
