Interstate license plate fraud..

Talk about weird - it pays to be paranoid. DON'T post pics of your car and tags online.

I live in the Chicago area and just received a bill for unpaid tolls in Austin Texas. The bill is for some Illinois license plates that I owned a couple of years ago. Only thing I can think of is that someone poached the license plate number online and made a fake license plate tag. incredible.

Now I have to go through the hassle of convincing someone the charges aren't valid.

this happen to anyone else?

as easy as it is to just walk outside and take a pic of someones lisence plate anywhere in the world, i wouldnt worry so much about posting on the internet..
id be more worried about people tracking down a car they wanna steal from a pic then fraud

you're probably right. turns out the tag was for another one of my cars, so the whole pics online thing is probably irrelevant - more than likely took the pic directly or some DMV/insurance database somewhere got hacked.
