ok I thought I was the only one. What a ridiculous commercial. Insulting even -
I guess as long as he confines his "washing" to the windshield the clueless dad doesn't have to worry to much about swirl marks. Otherwise, fail!
I love the whole "I am going to save the earth by buying a new car" mentality. Ever heard of life cycle analysis? I am pretty sure my 25 year old car that gets 20-25 mpg is way easier on the earth than a brand new (e.g. high input) hybrid car that goes twice as far per gallon.sigpicComment

ARGH. Me too. What got me was the no soap smear job and the holier-than-thou attitude that came across with the ad.Comment

I've washed my car in the pouring rain. Not for water conservation but because it was so dirty I couldn't wait any longer. I used the hose and did everything like it wasn't even raining.Eternally searching for a nice set of BMW Sheepskin Seat Covers for Comfort Seats.Comment

I personally just cant wait to see the hippie faces when the world runs out of lithium, manganese, and cobalt and people realize electric cars are replacing non-renewable resources with yet more non-renewable resources. I will also never forget the top gear that ran the e46 M3 on track with a prius that ended up getting worse gas mileage doing hot laps. Though it might have rained during those laps and they left it idle while they took a moment to wash some bugs off the front of it.Comment

I used to wash my jet black 745i in the rain because we had hard water at the house and I'd get water spots like a mofo with the hose.
But yeah, that Prius commercial is obnoxious. Glad to find out I'm not the only one who thinks so.'84 318i - Lapisblau/Schwarz (in cryosleep)

This I hate people that buy these brand new "green" cars to save the world when they could have no impact and just restore an old TDI and get 50mpg like no problemI guess as long as he confines his "washing" to the windshield the clueless dad doesn't have to worry to much about swirl marks. But no they will just sit in their new ass cars and smell their fartsComment

I was watching one of those home remodeling shows once and the couple wanted to remodel using sustainable products. Problem was they filled a huge dumpster full of carpet, padding and other non green junk to do it. I guess they'll be cool at cocktail parties with their other hypocrite friends.Comment
