Mixing soap and acid rain is a great idea too... Also, the last time I checked the production of the batteries in one hybrid releases more emissions than a "regular" car driving for 6-8 years. Another thing I have heard is that the batteries have a 7 year battery life. So yeah...

I love the whole "I am going to save the earth by buying a new car" mentality. Ever heard of life cycle analysis? I am pretty sure my 25 year old car that gets 20-25 mpg is way easier on the earth than a brand new (e.g. high input) hybrid car that goes twice as far per gallon.

this why my stock appearance diesel is fun at stop lights with all the hippies and CA imports in their prius/smart/hybrid cars with window heights just above my exhaust heights. Neutral shift and high Idle switch make for a LONG wait at a stop light with hot Diesel fumes blowing in your windows or vent intakes, I am sure it takes a few miles to get that smell out...... Sure I could put a smoke tune in it, but thats a waste of fuel and you just look like a bag of dicks.

I had a hand full of change flung out the window of a old Vlovo 240 out side of MSP a few years back. Thing had all kinds of environmentalist, PETA, WWF, Hippie, Obama Biden 08 stickers all over it, was about 6am, I had been driving for 23 hours straight on my way to binghamton and he came from behind me on a on ramp, so I did nothing to piss him off...... I got on the hooks just before he flung the wad of change out the pass window and it all went in front of me..... Guy must have hated diesels

Damn...aren't we all a bit touchy about this subject? Idiots are everywhere...I had a Prius passed me at about 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. Needless to say, he got pulled over. I did give him a very nice smile and a big wave. To be fair, I am sure some of us have done something really stupid with our E30s too.

Buuuut my moms Prius was also the most reliable car ever...work truck broke down on the farm and I swear on my life we used the Prius to rip out small stumps and took off the back hatch and used it as a ATV, sold it that summer, you just have to treat them like shit(and drive flat out)

I think we changed the oil once in 10 years and that's all we ever did

Had that happen this weekend to me., dude in a murdered out prius, looking really hard (I don't think you can do that when you drive one of those cars, period) tried to pass me at about 70mph. Underestimated the powa of the e30 and got pissed off when I didn't let him pass me.......lol, he gave me the bird and waved good bye.
