I was getting ready to head off to college and wanted something a little more practical than the z3 so I was looking for a e30 and then my uncle told me his mechanic was selling a 1988 Black 325ix for about 2.5k. Me and my dad went up one afternoon to check it out but unfortunately it was sold. Later I found a 325is with 56,000 original miles and went to go check it out, but they guy wouldn't budge on the $6,500 price (my dad eventually bought it for him self), then I found a e30 M3 Rolling chassis for sale for 8k (this was a several of years ago) I got him down to 7.5k, but he sold it before I could make arrangements to get it. Then I found a sweet mint 318is slick top for sale for about 3k, but again the car sold before I could get out to see it. Then one day I got a call from my uncle saying that his mechanics buddy was selling the 325ix that was for sale earlier, but only for $1,250. So I ran up there and I finally got the e30 I wanted 3 years eariler.

Edit: Looking at this I know realize how cheap e30s use to be, lol

The day I bought the car I was filling it up with my friend who sold it to me, and this guy in a brand new GLEAMING M5 pulls up next to us and you know all the "I love your car! what year" etc etc. Pretty strange when a guy with a price tag 40x mine is giving my car props. I get into rev battles in the middle of the street too. Not the best idea because for a while my e30 was just down piped haha but it's awesome to see the smiles on peoples faces! One was against a dope R6, and the other was against a civic. Haven't got it inspected yet so can't drive it as much as I'd like! My friends moms love it too surprisingly. I pulled up and they run out like OOOH I remember these! ladadada
