Registering Euro Market E30 in NC?

I'm looking at a Euro market E30 that was imported to the USA after it was 25 years old. It's currently titled and registered in another state. Has anyone registered a car like this in NC? Any problems or things I need to watch out for? Any other general advice regarding buying/registering Euro market cars?

If this topic's been covered in another thread, please feel free to point me there.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You shouldn't have a problem as long as its already titled in another state. Just make sure when you purchase the car the seller conforms to NC title transfer process, which is just basically a notarized title.

Check with your insurer before you buy as some are unwilling to insure grey market vehicles.

Also, when you go to register the car don't volunteer information unless they specifically ask you something. Chances are that they won't even notice that there is anything odd about the VIN, but you never want to complicate matters.

ncbrock - Thanks for the response. For cars already registered in another state, any idea if the NC DMV will ask for any of the import paperwork? I confirmed that the car I'm looking at will not come with the import paperwork, just the TN title.

Since it is over 25 years old they will not ask for anything but the title
