What would you pay for this car?

    1988 325iX on Autotrader

Its right down the road from me, literally. She has had the car for 1 year, previous owner repainted. I'll get more details later. I'm missing E30's pretty bad... I want to send the E46 down the road and just have an E34 and an E30... wife doesn't seem to understand me

    Thoughts?

Also, can the iX bumpers be swapped out with the plastic bumpers from a 1990 325i sedan? That would pretty much be my only change.

no. it's an iX. IIRC they were as much as the M3's were (or close to it) back in the day.

looks like a really clean iX, and its a 2 door to boot. i'd nab it if i were you!!! try and offer 4 and see if she'll bite, but even 4800 sounds about right to me...

garage kept... by one owner... with fresh paint... me thinks there could be rust ready to bubble under that which is my main concern. They use salt on the roads out here like its going out of style, and even if she didn't take it in the salt and snow I can assure you one of the previous owners did.

Given the state of the wheels, interior, and engine bay it looks to be well maintained.

Salts not bad if you get it off before it has time to thaw on the car.
                Im now E30less.

I would be pretty happy paying 4K as long as I got it thoroughly checked out before.

No more than $3500 if everything works fine & the motor checks out.

+1 on being very clean... must have gotten a fresh coat .

price is a tad high IMO.

the price is fair.. I dare any of you to try and find a 5 speed ix coupe with less than 200k, fresh paint and well maintained for $3500. it will never happen!

judging from the engine bay pic, I doubt there is much rust either. fifedog's old car was covered in rust head to toe, and the engine bay was just as bad. have it checked out though, and make sure they check the t-case.

4800 does? I dunno, i wouldnt think about paying 5 grand for that car. Even if everything checks out and its in excellent condition, it still has 175k miles, maybe 3500
