There are plenty of ways to reduce weight without making it too uncomfortable, or impractical.

Delete sound tar from under the rear seat - 2.5kg
Drain the washer bottle - 5kg
Delete the power steering - 5kg
Delete the sound tar from the trunk - 15kg
A/C delete is one of the best weight reduction mods though. There's about 18KG in that alone.
Lightweight AGM, or Li-Ion battery. About 10KG weight reduction for an AGM battery. Or 15KG for a Li-Ion.
For US Spec cars switching to the world market aluminium engine mount arms would save some weight too.

Edit. I saved 3.5kg by switching from the stock AFM and metal air box/filter to a Miller Gen III MAF and Carbon KA Motors style intake.

Just because it works on another car doesn't mean it will work the same on an e30. E30's usually respond best to about 2* of rear camber.

atm ac is already off the car as that is how I bought if from the previous owner but that will be back on the car for next summer. I actually plan to add more sound deadening to the back of the car as the differential is loud at any speed. If I were to do any weight savings I follow do a rear battery delete with a light weight front battery. Removing the 7Kg cable going to the back of the car and another 15 for a lighter battery. Again, weight is not a concern though. Being as fast as possible is not the goal

Removing AC and PS was probably my best move, if you can't steer an E30 without PS you seriously need to drop the game controller. The tar in the trunk was a total pain, but in the end it removed around 30lbs. What ever floats your boat man, do what you want to the car. Godspeed

If your differential is that loud, it needs pretty immediate attention. Which oil are you using and how old is it?

I couldn't say what oil is in it. The previous owner installed it and he is a mechanic so I'm not too worried. 10,000 of having it no problems relating to that has risen.

No problems except the loud whine...the type and weight of oil can also affect noise.

Edit: you never said what type of noise it was. Whine, grind, thunk?

Just a high pitch whine with a pitch dependent on speed. I always assumed it is just gear whine

Sounds like gear whine, which is pretty normal, but if it's loud enough for you to consider extra sound deadening then I would think something isn't right. Wrong oil, no limited slip additive, not enough oil...something like that.
