Did you regret selling your e30?

I totally regret selling my first. It was a Delphin 89 4-door 5-speed. I would absolutely love to have it back, but mostly because of "first e30" reasons. And partly because I need a 4-door now for the family.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

Sold my '88 four door last fall, my final DD e30. I dailied a string of e30s for almost 17 years before that, saw the whole cycle from newish used cars, down to $500 beaters and back to the upswing they're in now and figured it was time to cash in. Don't regret it one bit.
I still have a "toy" e30 and an attic full of parts in stock, so I'm all set.'84 318i - Lapisblau/Schwarz (in cryosleep)

e30#1 86 325es- the day after I did the deal to sell it, I already knew I would miss it.
e30#2 88 325is- been with me since 2003. Have realized that I get a much greater satisfaction when I don't look at it as a means of transportation. Rather, a meditative experience where repairs and upgrades (done slowly properly) make me feel better as a person. This old car helps to "ground" me in ways nothing else in my life can. some use kids, job or family, I like the simplistic means of a car.
Some might think it's shallow, or sad (that I use a car for this purpose). I think it seems to work on making me a better person.
Sorry for getting off topic, but yeah, I regretted the first oneIf it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Sometimes I regret parting out my IX because it was such an awesome first car and it killed it in the winter time here in NY. But then I think about all the other cars it probably helped to keep alive. Like my firewall, floor pans, radiator support all went to a guy fixing a rusty M3.
Plus that car made me a decent a mount of money that I used to go towards my toyota tacoma, which is a perfect daily driver, and my turbo e30.

I've thought about selling mine a time or two (mostly when I'm buying parts for it) but I don't think I could ever let it go. I miss my first Z3 even though that technically got totaled. My Garage

No, because it helped me buy my current e30 which I love. First was an '84 eta AW coupe that needed help. Car ended with a friend, who I met for the first time when I was selling it'84 Alpine 325e (Gone)

E30: Still have mine. After reading these posts, it makes me appreciate my car despite the small things it needs here and there. I also don't see it as a "car", but something that connects me to the road and clear my head when the daily grind gets to me.
Non E30: I got rid of my e53 X5 about a year and a half ago for a then new 2013 Jetta TDI. Although I get fantastic gas mileage from it, it feels...boring. Vw guys claim that these cars are fun commuters, but I call bullshit. even my X5 still handled well for being an SAV. Never got old driving that thing. the jetta just doesn't do it for me. A few months after I had the Jetta (when the "honeymoon" was over, I guess you could say), I found myself wanting the X5 back. Still do.1989 325i - 2.7i, Holset H1C, 60lb injectors, whodwho MS-PNP.
