FINALLY! No more working in the driveway!

Just got the call, we got into the house we've been looking at renting. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, small shop out back with power, and the piece de resistance...

    A TWO CAR GARAGE!!!1!!11!!1!!!1!one

It's a little smaller than the house we're in now (but the house we have now is huge), but it's got a garage, and that's damn near all I care about. It's also much newer, and nicer. The rent is $100 more per month, but we swing this place with no problem, so it doesn't matter. The only thing I'm not so hot about is that it's got a kind of steep driveway, but I should be able to get up it no problem, just have to go in at a slight angle. I'll go by tomorrow and get pics.

    I'm so f-cking stoked... :D

No more punk ass kids throwing rocks at your car!!!!!

Now keep saving for the down payment on the house to buy . . . !!!!!

      Congrats.

I like my 2 car garage - but its too small - I need a 3-1/2 car one.

Or I need what my dad has - he bought his house from a guy who collected 'vettes - his whole lower level (basement) is a garage - big enough to hold 8 cars. The only thing it doesnt have going for it is the ceiling is not high enough for a 2 post lift.

Big congrats to you Josh. I miss my garage. Sad It's been a year now I've had to use a 10x20 tent as my car's home. I am thinking about starting to look for a new place myself, we'll see.

Great to hear Josh, but as Dave said, don't lose sight of a down payment on a house.

Thanks guys, of course I know about saving up for my own house down the road. It will happen, we're just not sure when. Real estate values around here are at record highs, and it's REALLY hard to find something you can afford.

Example: A house we were looking at buying from a friend, in a upper-middle class neighborhood. Roughly 1800 sq. ft., 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Newly remodeled kitchen, fireplace, close to school, centrally located, semi-large back and front yards, 2 car garage, with attached studio apartment, and storage shed out back.

Sold for $390,000 less than a week after we passed on it.

im moving into my new house on july 1st, and I can't wait! it's got a 3 car garage. I've never had an apartment with a garage, I've always had to rent a seperate garage. I rent 2 garages now, each about 10 blocks from my house. it's got a 3 car garage.

Around here that house would go for over $500,000.

Yes - it depends so much on location - my house in KY that goes for about 375 (just under 4000sf) would be more than double in Central Florida, and is well into the seven figures some places up East.

Exactly. Example here in Toronto, the house my folks have (3800 sq ft) is worth 600k CAD, but for the same price you can barely get a tiny ~1500 sq ft townhouse closer to down town. Suburbs FTW.
