If the seller doesn't know when the timing belt was replaced last, I'd take that as a sign of deferred maintenance, -$500. It's also a 325, not a 325is, so that's -$500. Rust, and there much be more of it somewhere, -$500. So yeah, $3k car. If he can show that he did other maintenance items then maybe pay a bit more.

This sounds like a good deal to me. I would buy it. Car looks great.

I'm with this guy, the color sucks.

I like the idea of -$500 for lack of timing belt replacement knowledge, aside from that it seems legit if the drivetrain is solid.

Find out if it has an LSD, that might make up for the lack of a Sports interior

It's a Hartge or Zender. They look identical except for the branding as I recall. Possibly Alpina as well.

with the stupid Hipster induced pricing the E30 has succumb to in recent years, and clean examples getting as rare as hens teeth. I would try and haggle some (using the T belt issues as leverage, or anything else you can find) and try for 5-600 off asking but being prepared to pay full boat for it if you really want it. Since if the owner has at all done any pricing research on this chassis beyond KBB/NADA he knows hes got a fairly desirable car on his hands, with a late 2 door, Calypso, 5sp car, with a clean (albeit comfort) interior, and what looks like minimal rust issues...

The lack of maintenance is a concern but this is not going to stop some kid with a pocket full of mommie/daddies money form buying it with the hopes of becoming the next soopppper Drifftoooo king and doing this to it

Or its not going to deter someone that has some disposable income some time and a decent tool collection (or a even more disposable income to pay the guy with the tools) from picking it up either. If I was in the market in any kind of serious way you would have to act fast to beat me from flying in with cash and putting it on a truck home and getting back on plane.....

So at worst figure on doing about 1500 bucks worth parts back into it if you have decent tires on it as is and you like them. on top of what ever you pay for it. Will you have to do all the maintenance to get it road worthy and safe to drive no prolly not.

LOL I am not in the market right now, big boy purchases like real estate dominate my primary and discretionary spending plans at the moment.. But being able too look past some deferred maintenance and see potential there is not there for you I guess.

Sorry the hipsters and popular trends have pushed up the e30 pricking to stupid highs, if you think its too high then it is to you. But for the current market your likely only to get a basket case for any less in need of much more maintenance.

I'm with Sleeve... very nice looking car. Do the maintenance it needs and call it a day...

Show up with $4k cash and have it flat bedded home. That car has some serious potential. And I want those wheels...
