I used to live in the suburbs of Atlanta but go to school in south Georgia. There's really no fun roads to drive in the city. You'd probably have to drive to North Georgia for some fun, twisty, mountain roads (maybe a weekend trip?).

As far as the e30 goes, I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a really good one for 3k. Deals are still out there but you'll most likely end up with an early eta or 318i for that money. I have my e30 with me at school and its been pretty reliable, other than having to change out the voltage regulator in the dorm parking lot. But, its also been very well taken care of. If you want to keep it from being stolen, you could probably just pull the fuel pump relay and take it with you.

Are you going to buy the car here in GA? If so, check the Atlanta Craigslist. There's quite a bit of e30 cars/parts on there.

    Good luck with the hunt!

Hey man, I'm gonna be transfering to GAtech in the fall. You really don't need a car at tech. Not sure if I'm going to bring my e30. $850 to park it is way too much. I may change my mind up there though. But if you need a car, An e30 as a college car is pretty good. Make sure you get nice maintained one, and you should be fine. I'd get a beater corolla or something though. You don't want a car you love to get stolen.
