    The E30 Restoration Spreadsheet

    Ok guys.

I've spent a TON of time tracking down part numbers and quantities through realOEM and setting goals for my car. My aim was to make a spreadsheet that can be used as a resource for me to keep track of what I want, what I've ordered, what I have on hand, and what's been installed. It's also a great way for me to see what is financially viable and what's really just a pipe dream. I've also used it to keep track of what vendors are charging for certain parts, so I can save as much money as possible.

I've removed everything personal from my build the spreadsheet, financial information, etc. I'd like to included everything that is OEM that can be refreshed on an E30 in a perfect world. I'll do my best to update the spreadsheet whenever I add anything OEM that I'm dreaming about. IT IS NOWHERE NEAR COMPLETE AT THIS TIME.

This is published through Google Docs, and is viewable by everyone with the link. I was hoping to make it a downloadable spreadsheet, but at the moment you will have to copy and paste until I figure out how to share it anonymously as a download.

Please use this spreadsheet! It's here so YOU can keep track of YOUR build/restoration/partout etc. COPY/PASTE INTO YOUR OWN SPREADSHEET PROGRAM

Link Here: Please don't share this link, link to the thread, otherwise you will miss the current version of this spreadsheet!

THIS GUIDE IS NOT GOSPEL, CHECK ALL PARTS BEFORE ORDERING. PART NUMBERS ARE BASED ON A 1992 M-TECH 2 CONVERTIBLE. IT IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR RealOEM!!

If anyone would like to add to it, please PM me if it's a sizable contribution.

Anyway, here it is, and I hope it helps

That's nifty! The only addition I might consider would be alternative part numbers for certain items. For example, there are at least three windshields that are available for E30s, clear with sun strip, green and bronze.

In your tracking of prices what have you seen?

My first E30 came with a spreadsheet on the build, not as detailed but still super helpful, especially when I wasn't sure what parts had been used on the swap (M50TU swap car).

When my 122s was T-Boned, I handed the insurance company a spreadsheet like this along with all my receipts and it definitely helped!

As for alternative parts numbers, that's really up to you to fill them out! Put them in the form, email it to me, and I will update the document. This will get too crowded if it's a RealOEM clone (but mostly, I don't have the time). I really just want to encourage people here to document all the things they have done to their own car.

I would have left it as a blank form, but I have WAY too much time invested in parts numbers research to not share that!

Not really going to comment on that, just that a lot of the things I would like to do are firmly out of my budget. Really makes you appreciate the time and $$$$$ that have gone into the nicer cars on this board!

I had to do something like that after buying the same part for the 5th time and never remembering what I already had. I haven't really kept up with it though, which is the tough part.

When I did my 02 over I ran a spread sheet. After 25K, I new my e30 rebuilds would be a road of no records, no totals and just do what I want as long as the ducats are plenty.
