    Good buy?

What do you guys think of this buy? I'm looking for a car to swap an s52 in. It's going to be a project I work on with my dad and we have been looking for a plastic bumper car, but I saw this one come up.

A little pricey, but man does it look clean! My thoughts are, leave that car for the enthusiast that wants a virgin e30, and one as awesome as an 87 is. If you're looking for a project, and want plastic bumpers, than just keep looking. I looked for months for my e30, but got it for only $550. Don't jump the gun and buy a clean one that has nothing wrong with it, wait for one that needs a little tlc and enjoy the process of restoring it.

If you want a plastic bumper car, hold out and get one.

Definitely start with the cleanest, nicest car you can find! It's much nicer to start with a good car, than have to fix one up in hopes of one day doing a swap.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

if you are going to remove the aluminum bumpers and put on plastic ones =, then swap engines, may i suggest a different car? that one should remain in its original state as it is becoming a rare car.

That car needs to remain as stock as possible. The 87 iS will be worth a lot in the future.

325is is not rare. It's like an original Mini Cooper. Cool car, worth a bit, fun to drive, but not rare.

Does the price seem about right. I think i'm going to do the euro bumper swap or an Mtech-1 kit if I can find one.

I agree this car deserves to stay original without the plastic bumper swap.

Car is a bit pricey for my taste but it is a very clean specimen. Finding an m-tech I will prove to be pricey as well.

Lots of "hidden costs" in doing an M-Tech 1 car. If you want one, buy the one that's for sale right now. Putting one together will cost that much or more.

He has options to bring the price down to 9k. You will spend at least $2,500 putting a kit on that car.

Got the car for $5,900(took off $500 for the struts). It has maintenance records for 27 years. It has been serviced by the same place in austin Texas for all . It's honestly the cleanest e30 I've ever seen. The leather feels soft and not a single scratch or dent with on original paint. Journal to follow.

Great purchase! Leave the metal bumpers though, a car that clean deserves to be left original
