that will never ever fly here. the additional pollution of diesels will not pass.

Actually I just finished my first test model of a flux capacitor so I'll get on the Mr. Fusion reactor as soon as I can.

The issue in America is that deisels have to meet the same emissions as all other gas cars. It spanks gas cars in terms of CO2 emissions, but diesel just has a much higher NOx emission. Kind of a dumb rule in my opinion, but diesels actually produce way less pollution in total than a gas engine does, mostly just soot which is filtered out with new technology.

why even bother? with the flux capacitor in working order, just go to the future and steal a working model from your future self. while youre at it, bring me back a flying car.

I never understood this. The Delorian was a real car, so why aren't people going back and forth to the future? Seems like a bit of a conspiricy to me.

Hook my car up to the local clock tower during a lightening storm, or "borrow" some plutonium from a reputable middle eastern country. I hear Iran will have some for sale soon...

I like big oil, it keeps my car running. I would convert to bio deisel, but you have to buy a pair of birkenstocks, put a crooked sticker on you car, and start protesting everything. I don't have that kinda time what with all the posting on R3V and the constant drive to nap my life away!
                      Yours truly,

I'd feel a lot better about fuel costs if Exxon wasn't posting record profits, like they did last quarter (when they set their best ever quarterly profit.)

Actually the first local electrics and bio-diesel were owned by anything but hippies. The first I saw was a porsche owned by some retired engineer who was bored.

I love the idea of ICE-hydrogen cars like what BMW is experimenting with. Of course, the catch is carrying that much without a million little Hindenburgs all over the place.

There is a shitload of energy available in this universe without burning fossils. Its just the cost of development. Add them all up right now and at least we could make a BIG dent in our use.

Shit, anyone who knows me personally knows how much of a reduction I have made in the past year. As little as I buy gas anymore I couldnt tell you what the prices have been over the past few months.
                          Im now E30less.

oil (petroleum) is infact renewable. it is actually trees that are buried, decomposed, petrified and fianlly converted to carbon chains. problem: it takes a looonnnggg time. the question is the rapid use of reserves viz tjhat long time. think about it...
