    Is oil a renewable resource?

    http://www.rense.com/general67/oils.htm

Oil is a renewable resource. The oil giants, are scamming you of renewable oil, while they are saying that world will run out of oil in (this) amount of years. SO, if you want more, you have to pay more for it. While it renews itself and they keep asking for more.

But, say that, when the price of oil goes down, that means more vt@cing for your buck.

    Views? Is it true?

I did a search. I could not find anything. Sorry if I have.

That's basically the bottom line. We are using oil at a pace hundreds if not thousands of times faster than it can renew itself.

Not everything you read on the internet is true. That webpage is a fine example.

Oil does not come from the mantle. The temperatures and pressures in the Earth's upper mantle (>800 deg C) are considerably higher than oil can withstand before breaking down.

Crude oil undergoes a natural distillation as the unoxidized biota (mainly marine organisms) are buried under large sediment loads. From ~100-150 degrees C, the temperature is good for oil formation, above that the oil begins to change to natural gas. These temperatures of reaction, of course, depend on the amount of time at conditions.

I stopped reading when he complained that gas now costs more than during the "gas crisis".... yet does not take into account the price per barrel today is still cheaper than it was back then.

I did some reading (which makes me a PHd) on the carbon cycle... It is very similar to the water cycle if you think about it.

When you speed up one side, say the production of hydrocarbons, then you end up with an abundance of the product of the use of the hydrocarbons (carbon, oxygen and water). Since the oxygen and carbon form to make carbon dioxide the other side of the cycle cannot keep up and you end up with an abundance of the carbon dioxide...

nuclear power is making a come back in this morden world. you have to get ride of the products however... I think it is much more simple (other than the leaks that get into the environment surrounding the power plant) to just put it back into the ground... that is where the plutonium came from anyway.

Energy is not free... hybrid cars reduce automotive polution, but the increased load on the world's power supply systems... what do we use to create power? lots of coal, some water and a hand full of atomic explosions...

I think we all should become nudists and live off the land!!

is there an absolute answer? no. I think the world needs to waste less, so at least what we use will be necessary... that is another dicusion in itself

I dont know about you guys but when i was going through primary school. Ages 5-11 over here. I was taught that oil was a fossil fuel, and that one day the supply of oil would end.

Now, if the oil giants paid off the researches to say it was a fossil fuel. Would that be the biggest scam of the lot? If it could be proved?

I can post endless websites about this. I dont believe that all content posted on the not is true. But, some shit on there is more credable than other stuff.

Study some geology, you will see how it works. It takes a lot of time and pressure.

However, there is a shitload more oil than they lead us to believe. The catch is its not as easy to get at as the shit we are sucking up now.

Canadia is sitting on one of the largest reserves in the world, the catch is its in sand instead of pockets in bedrock.
                Im now E30less.

I was more after views on the oil companies record profits in the hundereds of trillions and why people accept paying these prices, to readly. Im not so concerned where oil comes from.

What the fuck are you blabbing about? Put oil back in the ground? Put plutonium IN the ground? Do you realize that plutonium is an isotope of uranium? Nobody uses naturally occuring forms of plutonium, have you seen where it lies on the periodic table? Do you know what a periodic table is? Plutonium doesn't come from the ground you fool, it's a by-product from nuclear reactors. Go put some gas in your car and quit acting like you know something.

We're oil-dependent. Try to go without it for transportation, shipping, travel, heat, etc.

                          Okay, so that's demand.

                          Oil companies control the supply.

Now pick up an Micro-Econ book.
