and thats why its not on your car........ well the topic wasnt the best looking front lip now was it, it was broken ones and broken ones are ulgy.....if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all.

And yes it is getting powdercoated red to match...I just put some stickers on it for now for shits and giggles. Just waiting tell i have my side skirts and wing to get painted to so they all get painted at the same time.

Paint and powder coat is not the same thing. So...really...there is no need to wait. Send the lip to the powdercoater and then when you are ready for paint (on the body pieces) go for it. :D

I was driving to a car show last weekend, and on the way, I was following an e46 M3. The M3 hit a piece of tire in the road, cracked its CF splitter a little, went under his car, hit my lips, broke off my lips, and ran over my lips. I pulled over, ran about 50 yards, and found them to be not broken. However, they were quite scraped up. and there were 2 nice tread marks down them. For the show, I painted them black. I did not take any pics before i painted them black.

Here it is now, I painted them back to silver, and I am also redoing my rocker panels (which i scraped off the undercoating) and my front and rear valences. Clearcoat will go on tomorrow.

Matt have you painted your front valance and side skirts body color yourself? What paint method did you use?

Let's drive fast and have fun.

TJ, Yeah, I do all of the paintwork myself. I have a HVLP 1.4mm nozzle paint gun, tripple filter on a 60gal compressor. I use DuPont paint, and Transtar Kwik Finish Urethane Clear Coat. My old job was with a siphon feed touch up gun, which worked, but compared to the HVLP its night and day. I will post pics when i'm done.

That'll buff right out ;) I destroyed my first iS lip by running over a curb. It wasn't fun, and I don't have pics.
