    The snow driving thing really depends on the situation. If you're going at a constant rate, then I feel it's safer to feather the gas pedal and use light engine braking to help control the car. But if you see the ice late and have to switch from accelerating to slowing down, it might be safer to hold the clutch in (neutral) and then feather the brakes because this would at least prevent any sudden changes in wheel speed and keep you from locking up. Keep the car in gear with the clutch pedal in because if you're on the ice you probably won't have a 3rd hand to reach for the shifter should you need to get on the gas. But ideally you have to go slow on any downhill section and use all your lights and look as far ahead as you can.
