    What is he thinking???? Keep it as is! That's probably one of the cleanest examples in the world. Stock and preservation is the only way to go. If you want to mod, buy something else and sell this one to someone who will keep it as is.

      I used to own a white one of these - the 316 isn't bad in a manual. Basically they're a 90hp 1.8L M10 with a Webber carb. Tough as nails and very light, so they aren't so slow that they're unbearable. I used to sit on about 85mph on the motorway without issues.

        How has no one pointed this out yet? It's not a 316i, it's just a 316. I'm no genius or even a mechanic, but the engine has a big carbeurator on top of it. The i in BMW models stands for injection, this car is not fuel injected. Just saying
