    My e30 died at an auto-x on saturday and a local enthusiast lent me a 88 528e (super-eta?) until I get it fixed.

    I think if it were a five speed it would make a sweet commuter car. It is big and comfy and it still gets 30mpg at 65mph!

    I might start looking for one. If I had one I would put euro bumpers on it ASAP. The US diving boards are horrendous.

      The thing is, this E28 isn't a rust bucket, has 230,000 kms, and costs $250. I can't go wrong. The amount I'm going to drive it is really insignificant, maybe 5,000 kms / yr, tops. Roughly $150 CAD more in gas than a 528e per winter season. I think I can eat that for now, easier than finding another clean E28, which is impossible up here.
