Did I just fry my ECU?!?!?

I changed the oil to my car and I went to reset the oil service light. Instead of connecting the pin number 7 of the diagnostic port to ground, I grounded pin number seven of the other port thing close to the fire wall. The wire got super hot and I pulled it out immediately. Now the car will crank but won't start.
I'm specifically talking about this C101 port:

What's pin number seven in the other port for and did I just fry my ECU? :(

have you checked the fusable link in your trunk? that may have popped you can put a jumper from the thick battery cable under the hood on the firewall to the terminal next to it where the ecu gets its power from and see if that does it

Pin 7 is to your ignition switch. Maybe you fried that? Actually, if it's still cranking your ignition switch is doing something. By the looks of things you put 12v power directly to ground. Any number of things could have melted.

So I did some digging and came across this thread:

According to this, port 7 is a unfused switchable power. Port number 6 is fused by fuse number 9. I checked the ports for power after turning on the ignition to ON but not start. Port 6 reads 12 volts, port 7 reads zilch (nothing). I did fuck up something, I'm just not sure it's my ECU yet.

If I fried the ignition switch, can i just jump ports 6 and 7 since they are the same except 6 is fused?

thats prob what i would try is jump some power to that pin7 from pin6 i would reccomend an inline fuse on your jumper to be safe and see if it starts

I'm confused...you don't reset at the c101. You reset at the diagnostic connector. Nevermind...I see what you did. Wow. Does the engine not turn over? If it does, then I see no reason why it wouldn't start unless the wire fused with another causing a short.

I did exactly this minus the inline fuse (because I'm stranded on the side of the road) and voila it fired up. I must have fried a wire/connection that goes from the battery + to pin 7 somewhere in the road. Does anyone know the exact route that wire takes to get there? Any weak points I can check to see if the wire is fried or something?

                    Thanks everyone for your help.

You do if you know what you're doing, Barry. I'm a fucking idiot and this is what happens when you have a fucking idiot try to reset the service lights.

This ghetto "stranded on the side of the road" mod could have saved you.

This is EXACTLY why you are supposed to use a fused wire.
