Shop Replaced WP timing belt. Now wont run for s&it

Let a shop do my timing belt on 90 325i. I just didn't have the time to do it this time. Got the car back. Ran kind of iffy from the shop, but it did run. Was running kind of bad anyway, so I ordered electrical tune up parts, cap/rotor/plugs/VCG...etc.

After one cold cycle, car wont idle, runs, but only after holding the gas to get to it warmed up to near drive temp.

I think the dicks at he shop got the timing belt a tooth off? Any thoughts or method to confirm this without pulling tearing the timing case down again??

    Thoughts??

If you bring it back to the shop, dont mention you worked on the car yourself since they last did. Otherwise they will claim you messed something up with the parts you installed.

+1. Most places will jump at the chance to shift blame. Don't give it to them. Just mention it hasn't run right since you picked it up, no further information necessary.

they probably didn't take the time to rotate the engine a few times to check for alignment.

Hopefully they didn't mess it up bad enough to nick a valve.

Whatever happened, they either know what they did or will know. Don't let them talk you into spending more money to fix it.

^^^^ get an diagnostic done from another reputable bmw shop or dealership before taking it back but don't tell them. That is your proof they screwed up. If they are reasonable about it then you leave the est out of the equation. If they are not then you flip the est in their face and tell them "they screwed up" then go from there. Just be prepared for the ugly side to rear it's face.

Cap and Rotor not tight? Or if they fucked up mounting any of the timing cover stuff.

As far as I know one tooth off will make contact with a piston?
