I have also gone through the no gas debacle op, replaced a bunch of stuff before tapping the bottom of the tank and hearing a nice echo.

I'd be interested in the 302 swaps being a downer. How come?

Dumbest thing I did, in retrospect, is starting to drill spot welds and rip out frame work. I should have just taken it to a frame shop.

After cleaning the far ends of the parcel shelf with a long pointy vacuum extension while maneuvering the extension out of the car poked a nice hole in the once flawless headliner.

                That will do it.

I put solid different bushings on my daily driver cobra. Ruined the car.

Mine came with problem after problem. Biggest being a severe driveline vibration that I could not find. Trans came out over and over. Eventually I just decided that it wasn't making enough power to deal with all the little headaches.

It was great for turning heads, and was relatively quick, but a turbo m20 is the way to go.

I had my hood upside down on top of the car, lifting car with a floor jack caused freshly waxed hood to slide straight on the floor.

Deciding to replace the front drop link brackets when I did new links/bushings. Snapped a bolt while torquing to spec so I go inside swear a few times and ordered a new one. Stupid me should have ordered the other side because the next night I snapped the other bolt. I thought I might have been putting uneven pressure on the bolt so it snapped but they were so old they snapped with only 10lbs on them. So I ordered the other side. Go back to double check the rears, snap another... 3 separate orders within one day for $7 parts. Not a stupid thing I did to the car, just me being stupid lol. Glad I replaced them though, serious safety hazard.

Not respecting it's lack of ground clearance after I lowered it... Cracked an oil pan and ripped the boots on my power steering rack in separate incidents...

I probably made a lot of mistakes wrenching on it too that i can't remember, but it was the first car that I really learned on.

ripping out a perfectly healthy and solid engine and drivetrain to take on an engine swap...so far it's been fun/frustrating but i'm facing way more downtime than I had originally expected.

Everyone is out cruising in their summer cars, and i'm here with my e30 vert on jackstands test fitting driveshaft measurements while I still gotta install an entire wire harness...

                                don't fix what's not broken.
                                ^^^listen to this saying^^^

oh and two years ago had a no fuel issue with my e30 for a couple of weeks.

tore everything apart only to learn the gas tank was empty.
added fuel, fired right up lol
