Wow e92 M3's now as low as $25,000

Can't imagine like it was just yesterday when these models came out....with the new M3/M4 won't be long until we see it in the $25-30,000+ range say in the next 5-7 years.

Maybe a good time to get one when I sell the e30M3

Is that a thing? I actually came here to say "Now if E46 M3s would just dip below $10k..."

I'd be scared of that though, I know a guy who got one a couple years ago in the $13k range IIRC and he ended up having to put several grand into it right away.

Same thing as any other used car that you have high expectations for. Most of the suspension will be shot, and the engine will want some maintenance.

Well, the issues the guy I know had were beyond simple maintenance, there was a cracked aluminum subframe in there.

So the sub-$10k E46 M3 fixer-upper exists, its a step in the right direction at least.

E46 M3 subframes are steel. Do you mean the reinforcement/skid plate under the oil pan?

And given that normal maintenance on any E46 M3 includes repairing cracked rear subframe mounts on the body... :p

How exactly is that worth any money at all?

The E92 has a lot of cool technology, but it isn't a very analog driving experience. And they made a ton of them. E30 and E46 M3's will likely continue to be the most cherished with a sprinkling of E36's in there as well.

Ha! I was confused with someone else's E39, which is aluminum. But yeah, still, not a cool thing to have to repair.

Looks like the engine is sitting on the ground next to it... No doubt the with the mounts torn from the casting.
