Btw, that KA isn't exactly a bad engine. Its just hard to extract more than (I think it was) 300 hp, without any major, MAJOR mods. But if you're not looking to get anything higher, that KA might be alright.
My drinking team, has a racing problem.

Anyone have an aquarium? If you want fish, let me know.

By major you mean cooling. Those engines do not have very good cooling efficiency, and when people run turbos and stuff like that.... the inefficiency shows and the motor goes.

KAs cannot take the abuse that SRs do..... even the NA KAs blow left and right in the drifting community.

Yea. But for lower power, you're better off keeping the KA. Though I totally agree with the KAs not being able to take SR abuse.

His KA motor is already over heating........ thus the engine swap.

speaking of KAs not being able to hold power,

Driftspeed, a local company here, turbocharged my friend Quoc's personal S13 with a stock KA in it. They did it for free since they are sponsoring Quoc, and he drives their company car at competitions and not even 500 miles later, they fried the motor.

So of course, since they were the ones that insisted to turbo the car, they were obligated to replace his motor. But instead of replacing the motor, they just bought him a fresh S13, pristine lady driven S13 coupe. What a lucky guy.

I could go on all day speaking of blown KAs.... really I have that many examples.

Only one person was able to pull off a healthy KA-T, but he spent more than an SRs worth and his tuning is perfect.

if your looking for a good sr20 go to japanmotorimport.com they have really good prices and great shipping prices as well.

I'd swap an sr in there if you want to do an RB swap then do the RB25 the Rb26 was AWD and the 6speed wont fit. to do the 26 you need the 25 trans and a few more things.

Probably stick to the SR20DET swap. From the looks of it I will be better off buying an entire front clip from a reputable dealer. There are one or 2 good ebay seller selling S13 front JDM clips for $2500 with everything in them.

I've found that most S13 engines don't come with the intercooler piping which is about an extra $1000 on top of the engine. With the clip atleast that comes with it and a few people I've seen post about them on the 240SX forums say that you sometimes find a few extra goodies on the clips. (ie. turbo timer, boost controller, etc.)

BTW.. it came in on Sunday but I haven't got a chance to take pictures. I promise to post some later today once I get off work.

One of the weak points in the Silvias is their side mount intercooler. They are highly inefficient, so what people usually do is that they buy the engine without the intercooler and just throw an FMIC right off the bat

What about the 180SX intercooler? Silvia clips are much more expensive.

You want to run bigger tubing anyway, and more direct to the intercooler. Bigger rad is also recommended. Look into the Garret "Disco Potato" turbocharger as an upgrade. Infact, check out the project Silvia on sport compact car.

                        Keep it slideways!!

                            forgot to add,

an S15 conversion looks HOT on the S14's and it is a direct bolt on.

also if you do go sr20 and want to upgrade the turbo then I have a GT28rs, it's the most prefered turbo for that motor. it's capable of over 350whp and spools instantly on the sr20 motor.

I'll remember that.. Although I was under the impression that the S15 front end requires some modification not to mention the price tag on the headlights is pretty expensive.
