drug the e30 m42 318is out of storage...put in new timing chain tensioner; Walmart has sale on mobil 1 15w-50 full synthetic for $23.88 five quarts; m42 sounds like it came off the show room floor, purrs like a bobcat.

15w50 is very popular for m20 and m30 guys, but might be too heavy for your m42 in the cooler months. You should be alright in summer though. -

yea, 15w-50 is a little heavy...but its fully synthetic, that helps thin it down; i will go back to 5w-40 in fall and winter.....it is 92 degrees in Kentucky today.
