you need to find out how bad it is, then you need to sand ALL of it out.
then comes the bondo. the bondo will look like shit. but cake it on then spen hours sandding it smooth. with the right paint it will be only noticeable when you look real close.
i have done the bondo deluxe job on two of my cars, we did it so that iwhen we had it painted we could sell it for more.
i knew the girl who bought one of them, and she never had a problem with rust again
if you arent going to fix it now, sell the car

My car spent three weeks in Ohio in the snow and salt shit, and my subframe locating holes came back rusty. Surface rust, but rust nonetheless.

Holy shit this is an old thread. My pdate is that I've done nothing about the rust because I feel like there's nothing I can do that would be worth it. Can someone clear up this controversy about the spray product that magically converts rust into something else?I think I'll solve the problem of the rust around the tow hook by replaing the rear skirt someday. As for the rockers, I want to take it to a restoration shop and get it totally taken care of but I don't have the cash for that now and I've heard that it's not worth it because the rust will just come right back.


P.S. I don't live in Cary Quad anymore but it's not gay, I called it home for three years.
