    What BMW STEP works on

Since no one in MD wanted to come down and check this out, I figured I'd post it up for everyone to see.

    I love this car

With the top air cover off, the s62 puts the v10 to shame

sorry this one turned out so bad

overall, nice day, def. worth it. Got to speak with the head instructor who gave me some good tips on getting in. My dad was pretty impressed with everything and now wants to trade his M roadster for the black m3.

you work on them yes, but only to a certain extent, so don't think you're going to be tearing up that brand new M5. we got to do some fun stuff a few times, but lab time was manily left to the required lab tasks, the routine stuff you'd be doing daily in a dealership.

basically automotive technical school, rear world experience working on cars, good resume and more...four year college isn't the way to go.

If you goto wyotech, as I do, with a GPA of 87ish, good driving record, passing the initial test, and having a good interview, you can get in and they pay for your schooling while attending the STEP program. I have a friend that got accepted and is seriously considering going. I would if I could handle something like 7 more months of school, but I cant.

Im going to NTI with the sole purpose of getting accepted into the STEP program. You need a 98% class attendance, clean driving record (no more than two moving violations) and a GPA of 3.5 (no less than 3.2).
Anyone have experience with UTI/NTI? Im moving to NC in Nov. and starting classes Dec. 15.
Cant wait to get down there.

when was this? I should've met up with you and attended the event. I really would love to join the STEP program, but can't because I have bills that need paying.

The open house was saturday the 17th. I had posted it up in the gatherings section of r3v and e30tech. The students haven't been able to road test the e60 m5 yet because they are waiting on a v10 from munich. The m5, m3, and 645ci all have smg.

on another note, we put LTI's 740iL on the mustang dyno today. It ran a 15.5 in the simulated quarter mile. I guess thats not bad for around ~4500 lb of car.

7 months of school is much easier to handle then a lifetime of not having the job you really wanted. If you want to work on Bmw's then you should just tough out the 7 months.

eh, thats waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles shit. at the dealership you see all that on a daily basis plus more out in the shop. in one day at the dealership i was under a new m5, m6 and z8.

most common way to get to step is UTI -> or any technical school, im finishing up one more year in the BMW automotive technology program @ massbay in framingham, then hopefully the dealership im working at now will send me to step. there's many ways to do it, and also a couple different versions of step.
