    Thank you. I did find that, but would love to hear from someone that has first hand experience. The difficulties, how long it took, what to look out for, etc. Just in case people want to get a head start to make the process less of a hassle.

    Someone should make a "How to" for importing e30's.

      i know its not first hand stuff, but i was always under the impression that you could import to everywhere but california unless the car was specifically built for the CA market.

        From what I have read, importing to CA is possible. It is just a pain because there are tests and regulations not imposed by other states. Harder and more costly, but possible.

          I was just at the CA state referee this morning, in hopes of starting the process of getting my touring officially imported (After 2 years). There are a few of us in CA who have hit a couple hiccups in the process, but there are also a few who have accomplished it. Couldn't tell you the exact process as of yet, but mine has an M30 swap and that seems to confuse people at the local referee station.
