What is this??

Tearing apart the car found this going from the right side of the trunk into back seat. It is not the battery cable but a metal tube that has just about rusted off, what is inside? It's an 89 325is. Any suggestions on repairing it?

Where does it lead to?? Thats such a poor picture I cant tell wtf it is. Maybe someones homemade vent line?? Following it will tell you what it is

I can see it goes into the back seat. But there are 2 ends ,... Wheres the other end lead to?

whatever that is, i don't think its factory. just judging by the pic, it appears the line is plastic and the rusty area is the body of the car in that spot.

It's definitely metal, and if it was fabricated it looks pretty factory. Some kind of tube is inside but I can't tell what it is
