Buy from eBay, an authorized retailer there if you can. Non fuel 1/2 high torque is 149 USD at Home Depot. Fuel version is about 219USD, bare. Depending on battery size, go from there. A twin pack of 5AH batteries is routinely 129USD.

Or if you have HD, buy from the store w/ a coupon.

With that, 289CAD is 215USD for non fuel with a battery.. I'd say try around. Not a deal. Also, need to research the battery.. 2 or 4 or 5AH? Picture shows a non-descript battery.

And there is now a Gen2 for some of these tools.

Just ordered from "East Coast Tools" out of Nova Scotia Canada.

includes 1 XC battery, but I ordered a 5AH battery at the same time.
the XC battery will be for the 3/8" right angle impact wrench I'll order later one, and the 5AH for the 1/2"(primarily used to tire change overs)

free shipping and a 15% discount, got the impact wrench for about $220 CAD. Not bad considering these are selling for 3 bills plus at my local homedepot.

        I think I did alright:)

Nice work. I'm jealous. I use Kershaw for his impacts.

These aren't powerful enough to be considered useful for removing anything other than small bolts or screws. Most are rated in in-lb not ft-lb which is what you really want for an impact gun.

Impact drivers are cheat mode for installing screws and bolts for home improvement type of work. I barely use my drill any more, just blast everything with the impact and call it good.

The best deals for Milwaukee/makita/dewalt are during the black friday through january at home depot--they keep offering these deals which you can buy a kit and a bare tool (and return one) and get a huge discount. Repeat as often as you like.

I have ryobi stuff for working around the house and it's OK stuff for the price, but I won't expect it to hold up in the long run. Their warranty is piss-poor, just like rigid. Ryobi stuff is also made in the same factories as Crafstman's C3 line. Same stuff basically but the batteries are obviously not cross compatible.

If I were starting today I'd go with Milwaukee, all the way.

Actually, some of the Ryobi stuff can take a decent beating. Having built and dismantled a few cars and remodeled most my house with my various Ryobi stuff..

For instance, the little impact driver with a 8 and 10mm socket was great for stripping the Bronzit earlier earlier this month.

Their cordless nail gun has been indispensable for Trim and light construction projects when remodeling the basement/the kids room or rebuilding the front porch. The cordless 7" saw keeps my corded skill saw feeling lonely in the toolbox and lowers the chance of dragging out the big Bosch table saw.

And their drill's are decent. As well the cordless sander, and their battery powered caulk gun is always loaded. Also, they teamed up with HD/Rigid for their little multitool, so you can swap the heads and bases around to use either the Rigid or the Ryobi batteries.

The only tool I have had issues with was the 1/2" impact.

I don't kid myself in to thinking they are pro-grade by any means, but for the price, they produce a decent system, and limit the amount of chargers/batteries I have to keep around/replace.

I have a 3/8" drive 14.4 volt snap on cordless impact and it is awesome. I paid up for it but it was well worth it. I believe it was 450$ or around that when I bought it. It came with 2 batteries and a charger. It started its life with me everyday working on bulldozers now I keep it in my garage working on my e30. Ive had it for about 4 years and it will still take off lugs with ease

The problem with the 14.4 is that they are NiCad batteries.

They now offer a Lithium setup but it's $600+, and not even brushless.

Snap-On takes advantage of it's loyal customer base with credit accounts when it comes to their cordless tools.

Yeah, Ni-Cad is seriously old technology. Not worth it at all. Power fades pretty quickly.
