I take it you won't have those wheels for very long then, but what on earth were you thinking with 205/40 tires....those are TINY. 215/40 is already slightly undersized, if you want a 205 width, you really ought to have gotten a 45 aspect ratio. Are those your rims or are you just borrowing them. If you are borrowing them, who the hell put those tires on??

Man those rims do look small, and don't look as good as I thought they would. I guess the Voxx really did fit your car good. The rear also looks almost as high as stock, I think Ground Controls would be a great idea.

When will the front be finished?

It looks like the rims could come out abit more as you said, would they stick out too far with an e30 offset, et20 or so?

Anyway good work looking forward to seeing the finished product.

As I said though, I first need to max out my IRA roth before I order the 18's. Investing always comes first. (Specially now that SS is dead)
how much did you put into your roth????

"The rear rotors are the same diameter as the E30 M3 and E36 M3 (312mm)"

So the E30 M3 and E36 M3 have the same size rear brakes? I thought 312mm would require a 16" wheel?

The 5th lugs are locking caps and won't be put on until the car is ready to roll.

                FWIW:

M roadster sub frame will not fit an E30. It is just slightly too small. (1/8 of an inch). However the trailing arms bolt right up.

The set of 205/40/17's I got for $40. I needed some shit tires for the rims before I decided what size I REALLY wanted, so I used these. If I keep the 17's I'll run 225/40/17 or maybe even 245/40.17 (all around) if I can find someone to pull my fenders for a reasonable price. 245's all the way around would be trick! However I'm getting 18's first as the rims are too small for my taste.

As for the offset, I believe 3 series cars run a 35-43mm offset. 5 and 7 series run a 20mm offset. I know for a fact that 5/7 rims will stick out too far on an E36 and require custom fender pulling so it's a safe bet a 20mm offset would be too big. The 18's I'm looking at are offset 35 (current on the 17's is 41) so they should stick out perfectly.

You can put a max of $3k into your Roth per year. I have not put a dime in for 2003, but luckily I have until April 15th to max out 2003 so it won't be a problem.

Hopefully the front will be done next week.

                    Looking good Lukas.
The rears will look like they are sitting in too far if you don't run spacers, because the M coupe/roady rears require a different offset to the E36 fronts.
I think you need a et22 rear and a et41front for them to look balanced.

Just on a side note, what have you done to your brake booster??
I recall reading somewhere you have a modified one?? How & why??

                      Good job Eric!!

                      I thought the E30 M3 had 285mm rotors??

Geee 1/8" away from suing the whole sub-frame....that close? Did you actually try fitting the roady subframe?

e36 M3 front brakes would be such a treat on an e30....how is the front comming along?
