    Wow... What a haul!!!!

How much for an oil pressure gauge. If there's one there... Ever since someone drained the oil out of my 02 and the dummy light saved me i've been meaning to get one. Yikes and the oil temp gauge I spy with my little eye in the original packaging.

someone randomly drained the oil out of your 2002? what kind of a dickhead would do that?

about 8 months ago i was driving my f350 pickup to the junkyard to look for e30 parts. i noticed that about 2 miles from my destination, my heater stopped working. when i got there, i popped the hood. low and behold, my coolant was empty. i bought 4 gallons, filled it up, and ran the engine for about 20 minutes looking for leaks. i couldn't find a single issue. i have been driving it ever since with no problems. the only think i can think of is that some degenerate jack off stole my coolant?

Back in the late 90's, my dad's 98 Windstar did that. Just sucked up the coolant in the middle of summer. NO traces of leaks or goop in the oil. Those 3.8's were terrible for that.

I once rode passenger in an e36 m3 through Glendora Mountain Road (super technical canyon and mountain road) where the driver drove for a full 8 minutes after the radiator hose popped off. He was chasing down a GTR and 450whp Golf R and they couldn't pull away from the stock e36 m3.

Also, the engine was fine. To this day, that engine is fine. It makes no sense.

My old e36 drank coolant but the head gasket was fine and had zero leaks I even tested for them.

Some things were lost in translation at the highschool I go to and someone was lead to believe I did something intentionally to affect them in a negative manner. So, the best way they thought they could "get at me" the only way they deemed necessary. My dummy light came on and it saved me. I checked the oil and there was literally a quart and a half in the pan. Beyond happy that some sketchy 40 year old oil pressure gauge was actually working. Otherwise I would have been fucked. Also very fortunate they didn't decide to do the transmission or diff. No lights to help me there.. Highschool is a great time right? People are beyond ridiculous, and in this case it was no different. Sure it may be a little rot box but shit man, when someone does that to you it feels like someone fucked over a family member.. If that makes sense.

                  So I found the gearbox!!

One of the yard employees whom I don't speak to very much (speaks primarily Spanish) moved a few boxes of my parts out of one container into another, to get them out of the rain a few weeks back. I was at the parts stash yesterday and he approached me and in broken english, pointed me to the second container. So now I have more parts that I haven't gone through, and the Quaife Gearbox back woooo!!

I'm so glad it's not stolen.

Good to hear it wasn't stolen. That would have sucked really, really bad. But uhm... *Peeps over ledge* Oil pressure gauge? :hitler:

I am not ready to part with this stuff yet. Only some of the bigger stuff. I have a few builds coming up where I can use all the Tilton stuff I just found. And it's probably a good idea that I have an oil pressure gauge.

But I've been looking at the Quaife box and i'm fairly certain the adapter plate is for G265 trans from the m30/s14. It will fit the m10 as well. I will confirm this in the next few days.

This would go great with all the s14 blocks and start to make sense. We've confirmed that it's definitely will not for an e46 m3.

I bet the m30 e9 racers would love this gearbox.

I've also confirmed it's a sequential 6-speed box, not a 5-speed. I went through all the gears today and the everything works as it should. I have the gearbox at my buddy's race shop right now. He is checking it out now.

So I took the s14 blocks and the heads/cam trays in for cleaning and a basic check. Everything checks out as useable, but the head will need to be decked, one of the blocks will need a small amount of welding, and one block has had cylinder 1 re-sleeved. None are big big problems, but all will need to be sorted. I'm happy that everything is in fairly good working condition.

                              Here are a few photos.

The two cam trays and s14 heads are fine, though the PO did some slight grinding on one of the cam trays...my guess is because he was running a seriously aggressive custom cam. One of these head/block combos was definitely a race motor after all; the 2.5L set up. Of the m10 heads, one is good, the other is damaged beyond repair. The head pulled from a past 82 320iS has a crack that goes from the exhaust stud all the way to the back of the head. My machinist has never seen an m10 head crack in this way, and says don't use it. I'll toss it. The second m10 head that I received from Kronus (xoxoxo) has it's own issues, but can be salvaged according to my guy. I'll put it on a shelf for further review.

I'm going to sell all s14 stuff in a single lot. I'll gather it all up and take photos this week or next, once we get a break from all this rain. I didn't even think it rains this much in SoCal.

i think you should rethink this and put an s14 in one of your 02 projects.
