How much is a clean euro 323i e30 worth?

I was researching the different years and models and it seems like this is one of the more rare and cool versions of the e30. What are they worth? One's on craigslist for $4500 it looks clean but it has a m20b27 in it =(

That's a good lookin e30 I'd say that's reasonably priced. M20b27 aren't bad. I'd actually prefer the b27 cause then I can put a i head on it and have a stroker motor.

It would be worth more with the 2.3L engine though right? Or is the engine bad and unwanted? I just put my e30 up on CL because it's not clean enough on the body to warrant the $ it would take for my goals. Maybe I would get that one if it sells

Imo unless it's a b25 or b27 it's a boat anchor as far as the m20 goes. I'd try and snag that one it's pretty nice. No it's not worth any less you don't start doing damage to a car value until you rip a numbers matching s14 out of a m3

I really like this one I hope mine sells sometime soon. It was a great learning experience but I bought it naively and had no idea what I was looking for to determine what was good or bad- this 323 would be a great step forward. I have stepped up in pay so the money is coming in compared the $8.25 I used to make! Is there anything majorly different about the m20b27 than the 25? I know a lot about the 25 and if I were to go check the car out what would I need to know about the 27?

It'd have to be a 1988 2.7 motor to have the right pistons to work with the 885 head. And the seller seems like a douche. He's also trying to flip a rusted 325i for something like 3k that he got for a couple hundred bucks. All I'm saying is don't pay more just because something is euro or whatever. You wanna get a bmw that's been well taken care of by an older fellow. I wouldn't buy that car or any for more than 2500.

The only difference between a euro and an american is the bumpers. And the USA's generally came better equipped. So get a USA eta with big bumpers for far less cash. Just because it's a euro doesn't mean it's a good car

I'll add that your car, unlike mine, has plastic bumpers. That's something you have that I don't. And I'm committed to making my car the best that it can be, because it's what I have, and I'm going to stick with it.

Are you talking about my car trying to be flipped? I listed it at $2900 but that's dreaming haha I will probably take a massive hit. I was dumb and naive and learnt my lesson about what to look out for and what is a realistic price for these cars. It's especially disappointing because I bought the car off 2 friends but they were probably just as dumb and naive, so I was blinded by what I thought was the best project ever, only to learn it's beyond my garage capabilities. I think it could be a good car if someone picked it up and had some welding skills

I was talking about the seller's other car. Not yours. But I was for sure implying you should make the best out of your situation. I feel you would be worse off by over paying for a car sold by a douche bag.

I bought my car for 3700 as a basket case, but I didn't care because I saw through what it was and I could see what it could be. I had nightmares for months about how much I overpaid for the car, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody (granted I didn't have a steady income until about a year after I bought the car). That being said, I refuse to accept my car as a "mistake." By my own sweat and effort, it will become something I'm proud of: something more than the previous owner could ever hope to call his own.

Being in new england, we are somewhat disadvantaged, having to choose a clusterfuck just because it has very little rust. But you should aspire to make the best of what you have.

By welding skills... you know here in new england there are lots of people who can patch your floor panels for not much cash? If you do the prep and make the right friends it could even be free!

Das you the man! I'm not sure if I've ever seen your build thread but it sounds awesome. The main issue for me is that I'm going to college 8 minutes from my home and I can only have one car and I have rather limited garage space for anything beyond hand tools and a jack and jack stands. If I could I would get an e30 shell and try my hand at chopping it up and welding it up but that's impossible for now and like you said, you want it to be your work. It wouldn't sit right if the welding and stuff wasn't done by me or someone I'm super close with, which I guess is possible.

My mission now is to sell this one and get a clean base- I know r3v stands by that and it makes a lot of sense to me, even though it was really fun working on such a POS and finding some of the dangerous and sketchy shit haha, that's for another time though when I have a place for more than one chariot =)

Just went to see the car in CT it's clean. The body is really clean underneath. Barely any rust, just a tiny spot on the driverside rear well where it connects to the skirts. All the lights work, cities, fogs etc. Str wheels brand new tires, clean suspension all around. Just a bit of rust on top of the rear trailing arms and the dif. Exhaust is nice, mtech 2 wheel, oxblood door cards. Rear seat has headrests, sunroof is prefect with no rot.

A rust free car in CT is a good find. CT is one of those borderline states, where you could get something nice and you could also get something rusty. It all depends on where the car was before CT - whether if came from further south or up north. The buyer's price seems to be his asking price... I would def talk him down by at least half a k
