Almost de-ja-vu again this year with so few cars finishing.....but not because of tires. Accidents plagued this years' race...particularly the T1 incident at the start. Because of so few cars finishing I wonder how well the race was received in the eyes of Bernie and Co. Nothing on the table as of now to bring F1 to the US for 2007. Might this be the end of the Indy era for F1?

Stands were pretty empty. Race was so so with lead chages which is something new... Not totally dominated as Michael and Masa did well this time around.

I say the end was this one thou. China will get a second venue. Pretty much an untapped market. Spa is done now offically?

I noticed that the stands weren't as packed as last year (with exception around the yard-o-bricks at the start/finish line). As for China getting a second venue - I can't see that happening since they don't have another suitable circuit to satisfy the FIAs standards. The Indy events of the last couple years have definately scared things a bit but I don't know if Bernie wants to completely abandon the US fan base. He has gone on record saying there's a lucrative market here and he doesn't want to ignore it. There are other places which could support an F1 event in America. What is key is having a location with all the necessary support infrastructure (airport, hotels, entertainment) to meet the demands of an F1 event. This topic was kicked around this time last year after the tire fiasco at Indy. LA could be one possibility with a temp. street circuit or even Las Vegas. The latter would be perfect since they have everything imaginable for supporting a venue.....all they lack is a proper track. Address that and it'll be like Monaco west only no yachts at the waterfront.

I thought i had your number in my phone under 'smelly'... oh well. yeah, i was calling to ask what had happend in turn one! I was down at the end of the back streach and did not have any good view of a TV.

My dad is retarded, and i had just woken up from the ride when you called. He managed to get us lost, we made it in time, but had only enough time to get tickets and walk over to the mounds on the tight turns [9 and 10?]

Anywho, a random guy gave us 2 free tickets, but there were three of us; mom dad and i. So some other guy that we started a conversation with got the other one, since he was alone. Saved up 60 bucks and he got in for free!!

We were in section 4 under the big awning thingy on the front straight. It was quite nice to be under there when it was so humid/hot/sunny. Maybe I'm just a wuss though ;)

On the way out i dunked my head in the ice water at one of the Fosters stands. Felt real good!
