You just tell the guy at the counter you want to buy a car, and he calls the manager over. Manager walks out to the car with you, makes an appraisal, and then they charge $25 for every car they have to move to get to it. They forklift it over to the front, you sign the bill of sale, and that's it. Most of the time they won't let em go for less than $1000 no matter the condition unless all the parts have been pulled.

Wow was this a Pick n Pull yard? I've heard of people buying cars at yards, but not when it's actually ON the yard. I know for a fact we couldn't do that at any of the yards up here in the Bay Area, maybe a independently owned yard but those are hard to come across now.

It's a LKQ pick a part, they seem to be taking over most junkyards around here. Here's a better pic of the damage:

Hoo boy, that was a nice little hum-dinger. Surprised the windshield didn't break.

As a manager at a salvage yard, and more importantly the sole individual that processes titles in accordance with state law... thats not the case.

It's just what yards tell you because they don't want to sell the car outright, they are always worth more as a sum of parts.

Up till the time the title is submitted to the state its obviously easy to turn the car around.... and even after the title has been turned into the state as salvage and the VIN burnt in the DMV system... you can still fill out an "accidental submission" form and get the title reinstated for $8.

Other states may vary, but this is what I know to be true in The Great Republic of Texas.

They were heated but the were comfort seats. Also. That thing was pretty fucked up. Have you noticed someone's attempts at welding the inner fender back together. Right by the strut tower. It was beautiful lol

The motor was pinned against the firewall hard, and the booster was completely destroyed. The starter had snapped off the block.. The only thing broken on the trans was the shift carrier. Transfer case chain is good and the VC feels tight so far. Driveshaft splines are 100%.

Looks like a brand new clutchmasters kit on it and a B&M short throw shifter.

you are going to have a really hard time finding this. i don't think i have ever seen a u.s. model sedan that came from the factory with sports. i have seen a few in europe.

i think you can get coupe seats and remove a part from the seat mechanism that will keep the seat from folding forward.

Why even bother removing that? it's not like it matters. actually it's kind of nice to have there because it holds the seat belt in place. and if you have friends in the back seat they will still appreciate being able to fold the seats forward to get in and out..

I've seen a few in the US, I think they're more common in ix sedans but I've seen them in 325i models also. I'd just really prefer using the sedan specific sport seat frames instead of the coupe in my sedan project.
