    Custom Made Sway bars

Just seeing if there is any intrest in some custom made sway bars? Me and a co-worker are going to make a cupple pairs of sway bars for our cars. These bars will be good for the track but if you like the ride on the street go for it. First car to get new bars is going to be a 90' 325i. Looking at 33-30 bars. Next will be my E36 not that it matters to you guys much. A good friend of ours is going to make the bars for us. Him and his dad own a shop that makes all sorts of stuff. Lately they have been building everything except the frame for the TOMCATS. They have built custom Pistons and engine internals, They are the largest rod keying manifacture in the US, the list goes on. They do alot of stuff for some big people and building some sway bars is no big deal. We are going to test them on our cars for a cupple of months for the road, track and auto-x. Just pokeing around to see what you guys have to say.

Certainly. They make it more difficult for the suspension arms to move. (thus reducing body roll)

We need to slap some sways on your car Ian. ;)

i meant ride quality, as in harshness.

The front control arms (where the front sway attaches) and the rear trailing-arms (where the rear sway attaches) won't move as freely with a larger diameter bar. Therefore the ride quality will be worse because the suspension arms will take more when you hit a bump in the road. The arms won't move as freely as with stock swaybars, so you'll feel more bumps.

would it still effect ride quality on cars where the front swaybar mounts to the strut tube? (M3, ix). I assume so.. not that it matters, there aren't any aftermarket front swaybars for the ix, and they aren't needed either. :P

M3, IX bars are effectively stiffer since the mounting point is where it is
