I just spent $44 at my dealership on some nuts and studs for my exhaust manifolds which seems pretty ridiculous. Is there somewhere cheaper to get replacement nuts and bolts?

I still buy hardware at the dealership. I have yet to find a place that has quality hardware. I figure, if a bolt comes out without a problem, and it's been in there for 20 years, why add a lesser quality fastener?
I'm also finding that it looks like BMW still uses cadmium coated bolts. These are hard to find anymore, because it was decided that cadmium is hazardous to the environment, so more bolts are coated in zinc instead...which isn't as good of a corrosion inhibitor.
Then when it comes to special bolts like the brake caliper bolts or something exposed to heat like that, I would definitely use BMW's fasteners. They've got what looks to be a black oxide coating, which I assume is better for high temperature situations.
my $.02
Plus you're not having to guess on bolt/screw lengths and making multiple trips to the store...or buying more than you need.-Brandon

With that said I buy ALL hardware from either BMA or BMW.
If I need it quickly I run over to Tacoma Screw. They have just about everything I would ever need in the hardware side of things.
