My E30 is not my DD- been driving/working on it for about 18 months now- roughly 3,000/yr. My DD is 2004 330i ZHP (for sale and in storage now). I spend 90+ minutes EACH way and $25/day on my shitty commute to NYC (drive, park, train, walk/subway). Currently using my son's (er...I pay insurance and upkeep- so sorta MINE) Jetta while he is away at school). I love driving my E30, but would never hand the keys to a Newark NJ parking lot jockey! Actively looking to change the commute situation!!!

Holy fucking shit. I feel I am pretty close to being priced out of car ownership here in SoCal, out there I would be for sure. If I added that to what I spend a day on gas with my current commute, 25% of my income would be spent just getting to/from work.

1700 kilometres this year. That's about 1000 American.
That's a record for the 3 years I've been driving it, achieved only because I decided to do nothing to it, and swap in Mr. Burns' old M20B25 next year.
Considering I bought it to be a fun car to do my weekend errands in, and I can do the essentials (Beer store, hardware store and groceries) in 8 km., 1700 km isn't so bad.
E30 season here runs April to November.

I used to put 20,000 miles on it a year when I had a huge commute every day. My S50 swapped car was my only reliable car lol.

got a job closer to home so its gonna decrease alot. I rolled it over 300,000 a few months ago. happy enough with that.
