    my car = ecu jihad?

    so my car just chomped its way through its second ecu.

    i have two questions:

    1) is there an electrical fault that can cause this? i noticed my mechanic installed eta injectors instead of i injectors on my car; could that fry the ecu?

    2) or is there a life expectancy on ecu's of about 22 years that no one really talks about?

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, im pretty sure eta injectors are low impedance..... not good.

      they are low impedance for shizzy. 2-3 ohms ftl. but could that fuck up the ecu?

      -e- oopsiedaises. plz move this to general technical mods

      did some reading on teh intarwebs and found out why running low impedance is bad. :( the resistance through them is exacly where it should be, is that alone a sign that theyre still working, or is there another test that they need?

        if you are using the wrong injectors replace both the dme and install i injectors

          If you need high impedence injectors and you used low ones... that would definitely fry the ecu.
