    Hello i need some assistance :)

    Hello everyone.
    I recently bought 325IX m20
    My question and help that i need are next
    The car wasnt started up for 6 years previous owner says it got overheated and he drove it and poring water every like 10 minutes then he parked it and never try to start it up again
    So im asking here, what to check and what to do before i start it up.
    I was thinking to remove spark plugs and insert some oil if the system is dry and try it
    Before i do that i want to ask u guys i bet u have better exp and more knownlage then me
    So what do i do?

    If that is all the info he gave you, I would start by changing the oil, drain the gas tank and look at the cooling system. You could also start with a cyl leak down test. May give some clue as to why your car overheated

      I'd just go ahead and pull the head off right off the bat and check it for warp.

      If just the headgasket failed, do a full headgasket and timing belt job. Drain and replace the gas. Change the oil. And then replace as much extra as you can afford. Crankshaft position sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, belts, clean all electronics with MAF/Carb cleaner.
      AWD > RWD

        Kershaw is right on - these should be your absolute first steps. After you do all that, then you can get down to other things.

          A compression test may show a bad head gasket, but I do agree with his suggestions. Also check the current oil to see if it was mixed with coolant

            once started:)

            When you get it started, check the oil in the transfer case before you drive it anywhere!
            Might just want to change all the oils first.
