    what would you do

i have found a 1984 325e with 151,xxx mi. for $600 the only thing the car needs is the fuel pumps which brings me to a question. are those easy to find without having to buy one from napa, and if so does anyone know if its trickey to instal? the car redlines at 4500 and i dont know why if its an m20 shouldnt it be able to redline at 6500? and also can you throw on a limites slip from an 325es? and also could you put on that 325is front lip on that car?

Would love to hear any feed back, im quite new and do not know alot or where to look. THANKS

i can chime in on the redlining Q.

325e have indeed M20 in them BUT the M20 engine in your car is an ETA model. They are purposely built for good mileage and don't rev high.

Browse through-> www.strictlyeta.net for lotsa info

You could find a used fuel pump pretty easy but that is risky. Yes you could put in a es lsd and no you cant put on a is lip spoiler without doing a whole plastic pumper swap which is a pretty big job.

For $600, a car that just needs a fuel pump is a great fucking deal. You can order a fuel pump easily, and it's not too hard to change at all. I don't know if there were 2 or 1 pump in that model though.

HAha you beat me to it!

If you are looking at a car for $600 and you are worried about buying a new fuel pump, that car might not be the best thing for you to buy!

Other questions I think have been answered!

Good luck and dont tell anyone that you have a trunk gun!

buying a used pump is not a good idea, but a new one...

Not really, most running etas are worth less than $1,000 anyways.

The ETA engine has a longer stroke which means piston fpm compared to the I motor.

You sure can. Wont do too much for performance, ETA motors are generally pretty un-inspiring. I hear chips help a bunch, though.

You sure as hell can, but obviously only the early model "is" or "es" spoiler, meant for diving board bumpers.

I am picking up a straight, running, driving 325e in Alpine for my son. $100, from a tow yard. Needs a ton of shit, but he can get busy with the parts I have sitting at my shop.

Don't worry, what you pay for the car is damn near meaningless. These damn things will eat all you throw at them, eternally.

                          Good Luck!
