    1985-87

Here is why: Low rear arches(avoids the FUCKING UGLY as FUCK loaded diaper rear), narrow taillights and who cares what package you get...engine swap all the m20s. Tucking the dive boards and an Es valance looks the sex, dive boards not your thing? Euro bumpers or go plastics :D

    Cliff notes:
    Fat 89'+ taillights suck
Low arches suck and make the car look uneven when lowered
Who cares about iS models, add that stuff if you want it.
    M20s suck without a snail.

I've been thinking about this in a slightly different way....I bought a '89 325is - basically the most feature rich e30 you can buy.

If I had to do it over again, I think I would just buy a shell, and build an e30. Since I bought my e30, I've replaced almost EVERYTHING on it with something better. Suspension, motor, seats, carpet, blah blah blah.....

About the only thing you need to worry about before buying an e30 is vert, m3, 2 or 4 door. Beyond that, it doesn't really matter.

Yep, they're just basic building blocks.

I think the rare triple headlight models are the best.

No, no, this is a 6 eyed spider, which you can kill with fire.

6 eyed E30s can only be killed by square headlight converted E30s.

It is known. This man speaks the truth!

Sidenote on features... I love the fact I have manual everything... even the crank sunroof. Keeps my life simple so I can enjoy the car. The only feature my car didn't come with stock (which my best friend PO added) was cruise control - honestly, with all the driving I do, I couldn't live without it.
