    Hagerty Insurance

Have any of you guys considered (or maybe have) Hagerty insurance on your E30s?

I was involved in a accident recently and i'd hate to suffer the same loss in my e30 so I was thinking of getting a little extra coverage for it. Does not seem bad (about $400 a year for a guaranteed 15k payout) But im just wondering how it works and if anyone has it.

For anyone wondering why its 15k: I got the value based off what E30s in my condition are going for, in addition to the mods that it has.

I have them, with an agreed value of 5k. I have never had a claim, but my father has an open one with them. So far they seem to be helpful, but the car is not fixed yet. They gave him a $2500 advance to buy parts with on his claim.

So in the event of a total loss, they just shoot you 5k minus the deduction? Im lost because i find it hard to believe that for 500 a year id get 15k. lol

IDK what would happen in a total loss accident. I am sure it would take time to get a check and some if not lots of arguing

funny is canada Hagerty won't insure an e30. they say the production numbers are too high.

I have shelter classic insurance. My car is worth 20k I pay 201 a year and I have no limits or clauses. So I can DD my car and park it out side if I wanted to but I wouldn't anyways.

..I'm looking at specific insurance for the Alpina now as well. Inclined to go with Hagerty, not just because of the good feedback from others, but their active participation in supporting our PRO3 race series.

They are a sponsor and the local rep has been very involved the last few seasons. Not to mention, they seem like "car guys" and get it when it comes to the different goals we have for our cars. I want an insurance company that understands the difference between a track/race only car vs a weekend/cruising/hard parked show car.
