      They should both have the same small struts in the front with non-vented disc in the front also. The 318 will just have drum brakes in the rear unlike the 325e with disc.

        I had to swap both front and rear suspension to 325 before even being able to do any mods..

          A 1984 325e was my first and only e30 and I drove it for about 6 years.

          The e cars are great little motors. Great around town and for distance cruising. Obviously they have a low rev limit but they still make sweet inline 6 sounds. All in all it's a better starting point.

            Oh I didn't know they both had small struts. So either way he should wait for a 325i to get the more common big strut setup

              Keep in mind with a 318 and 325e you don't get ABS.
              You'll also have to swap master cylinder to run disk brakes on the 318.
              Just get a 325i

                the eta if only because it's not an auto.

                the 318 does look clean though, could be a good base for a project. But M10 with an automatic = bleh.

                    Definitely just wait to get a 325i. Way better if you want to go fast. Also has nicer stuff.
