E34's are cheap money in Europe. No one wants them anymore as they are gas pigs and expensive to maintain. Newer M5 are cheaper to maintain and not as finicky. We had one in our junkyard during Spang's good days for 5k but it need a suspension replacement and an exhaust. The self leveling sysytem is quite pricey.
RS6 touring or 540iT sport. Both V8's and 6spd, both have sufficent grunt and class, Audi has Q which is nice in winter with for snows. RS6 is still quite pricey so it might be out of the price range.
On another note is the G35 rwd? It has 260 hp which is 25 more than a 330i sport 4 door. I think BMW has to look at it's competittion, the hp and cost of cars they are becoming quickly outclassed. Heck the Honda Accord has 240 hp. Granted it's still a fwd American car. Soon to be in NASCAR.
My roommates dad is think of selling his 964 Turbo, and is looking for what I can best describe as a grand touring car
requirements:
1- sporty (manual tranny)
2- good on the highway
3- backseat useable for child seats
4- good AC
5- relatively classy, somewhat modern
6- $25k-30k purchase price
7- must fit 2 sets of golf clubs
any ideas? We've discussed the e34 M5, e39 540, 928 GTS, b5 S4, Supra TT, what else is there?
Rob - What about an M6? Below is mine when I bought it. I'm just redoing the interior, all else is done (it now has 17" ACS II 3pc on it). Motor rebuilt 15k miles ago, as has pretty much everything else. Straight, no accidents, etc etc. Its also cleaner now!!
