Dipshits like to try and insult me by saying I clean toilets. I set the record straight. If it bothers you too bad.

I have never cleaned a toilet as a means of employment.

I don't put people down when it comes to their employment, but when you do so towards me I will set you straight.

lol lot of dickswinging in here.

OP, I bought my E30 for $1700 back in 2010. Prices have went up dramatically since then but these have never bothered me because I enjoy driving MY car. I agree with you to an extent on the pricing but what it boils down to is market value. I experienced this when I had a 240SX as well.

Drift tax made a worthless car valuable, idiots only pay the tax on these items.

I bought mine for reasons of joy, to enjoy the open road. Not to profit from it.

Ask anyone that has met me: I fucking drive the shit out of my beautiful e30. That's why I bought it.

          Balance unlike any other.

Uh...I bought my S13 off my stepmother, who took incredible care of it and owned it brand new from 1992. I wouldn't call it completely worthless considering it was one of the more reliable vehicles I've had and that was back when Nissan made some great cars. I honestly loved the car even before powersliding eventually got confused with drifting. The DK's out there just ruined the image, that's all.

Agreed it's not worthless, but you catch my drift. Only those that new to power slide it wanted one , then drifting really took of in the states. Made a relative cheap good car into an expensive one.

But I almost had one before the drift tax really hit , would of been $1200 but I went for an rx7 gsl, for $300.

That car took a beating, best $300 ever.

Check and try to find out why it was a salvage title. Some are theft recovery and have no body damage.

operations manager is just a title guys. lets remember it does't depict the overall condition and level of repair.....

Lol its a great title, but it is still middle class. You're probably still in the same tax bracket as a lot of the adults with jobs here.

This thread almost gives me cancer.

But just to throw something constructive in the mix, I feel like it's a little ridiculous to say that en e30 with a salvage title is worth nothing. I would agree to the POSSIBILITY that its actually worth nothing if the damages were not fixed correctly. I don't think it would be a very logical decision to rule out the idea that an e30 with a salvage title could have just fender bender type damage seeing that most insurance companies total them with the slightest damage.

I guess my point is that maybe times are transitioning a little bit. It's pretty plausible that more and more e30s are popping up with salvaged titles that have no significant damage. Does it mean we should be paying clean title prices? I think it's a little too early for that, but I also dont agree that theyre worth just their residual value. Usually when I buy e30s I dont intend on selling them so to me it wouldnt be worried about a salvage title as much. Just as long as a thoroughly looked at the car to ensure there wasnt significant damage.
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

There are a ton of crappy cars period regardless of title. A rebuilt title DOES reduce value, although it is not as significant as the majority of cars aren't worth that much to begin with.

From a buyer's perspective, I would use a rebuilt title to get the best price possible if its a car I really wanted as long as the repair and damage are documented.

From a seller's perspective i would say "its a quality repair, no issues blah blah blah" but i would sell it at a discount because rebuilt title cars are harder to move due to financing and insuring.

Their are probably more e30 salvaged title cars that are in the end cleaner and nicer than e30s with a prestine title

I'm just impressed with e30s that don't flag mileage discrepancies on the carfax. Thats usually a winner haha

We should let the guys spending big bucks on previously crashed and "salvaged" Porsche 917's, or GT40 Mk1, or early Ferrari cars know they their cars are worthless because, it was wrecked, maybe multiple times! Just too early in history to get a "Salvage" title.

                              Below the radar...

The only way salvage title is ok...is maybe a gutted track car. And that's saying it's one of those it was only a small nick which totaled it.

You do relize you can hit a sparrow while rolling down the highway and mash a headlight and kidney gill and if you turn that in to your insc outfit they will likely brand your title as a salvage. Or a shopping cart goes on a unguided wind propelled furry and bashes into your rear quarter and puts a small dent and cracks your 26 year old bumper plastic will now = branded title. These are not things that deserve the moniker of salvage title, but the cost for the insurance company to fix it is too close or exceeds their appraised value to the asset = SALVAGE title if you choose to fix it.

If you inspect your used car buy thoroughly, then you should be asking what damage was done to warrant the title, and when did the care receive this moniker. Secondly if you have any idea what you are looking a branded title should not scare in the least after you inspect it. What was meant by a shoddy repair was someone that never turned a issue in to the insurance and hack job repaired it in the back yard, by less than qualified or just plain corner cutting for profit used car sales outfits... If a tree fell on my car and I fixed it myself, it could be very compromised structural or geometrically, and unfit to drive, but look fine and has a clean title, on the other hand I could have something with a branded title, that was involved in a light deer strike. In which a fender headlight and grill was all that was replaced and nothing structural is an issue. In your mind that deer strike is automatically out and you would paying me top dollar for something that once had a 3 foot pine tree laying on the deck lid.......
