Go to bimmer.work and plug it in there.

Looks like it was made December 1st 1983.

going to bump this up just to see..
Is there anyway to see the production number for these cars? I'm looking to restore it.. so depending on the value of the car (ie: if its the 84th car made) I'll either restore to stock specs.. or if the production number really doesn't make a difference I'll do a nicer motor swap.. bumper conversion etc.

Thanks for the info so far guys,

I'm very curious as to the actual production number.. If I check vin # 1000001, its also a 325e with a build date of 1983-10-18 .

Hopefully I can find the actual number.

The serial numbers are sequential I think but it doesn't start over every year.

It does sound like you have a very early build E30 though!

    help decoding my vin?

Hey guys, i've been lurking around for a while but recently registered a new account.

I recently purchased another e30. its a 1984 325e coupe. I did the typical vindecoder, but i was a bit more curious on the numbers.

it ends in the last 7 digits are: 1000043

would it be safe to assume this was the 43rd e30 made in 1984?

    Production. date is 1983-12-01
