I have been a longtime member of the BFC and have owned an E36 328is with mods for just under a year. Well here I am now with another BMW Heehee! :D It's going to need a rear wheel bearing, that will be a fun one. :P Not much else I really need to do to it though.
From my BFC thread:
Well let me first of all say it's not easy to come by E30's around here (not many places it probably is). I had been looking around for something to drive in the winter as I really wanted to keep my 328 away from the salty MN roads this winter and keep the miles off as well. I happened to come across this BMW on Carsoup (Damn, I've had so much luck with that site), and I think I got a pretty sweet deal. :P
Listed in Carsoup: $1400 or b/o. I call the guy up, as the converstation goes on I make it aware to him that I am quite interested and have a good knowledge of BMW's. He proceeds to tell me the car was given to him by his cousin that left for Cali, and that he has only driven the car for a month. He also states he is a Chevy guy and his parents want the BMW out of the driveway (domestic family I guess). So we talk a few times on the phone and arrange for me to more than likely pick it up on Saturday (I was headed to Valleyfair with a friend, this is MN's amusement park).
So Saturday morning we get there, the car is basically what I expected, and when I got back from the test drive I am talking to the dude and throw an offer at him, $850 cash. He bites, and my friend and I drive off +1 BMW!!!
It's an '86 325E, 5spd coupe, 198k on it. Paint is VERY good for the age apart from very minor scratches and small rust bubbles in just couple places. The previous owner had hit a pole with the front bumper, so it is cracked/plastic missing, but doesn't look to have pushed anything else out of wack. Only other dent is on the right rear lower quarter, and because of that dent some minor surface rust so I am going to have my buddy pull that and clean it up. The clutch feels good, the front brakes were recently done, all lights (including fogs) and electronics work, CD player installed w/Boston Acoustics speakers, Factory service manual and owners manual included, and doesn't leak oil. For a twenty year old car this thing cruises almost as nice as my 328! Oh yah, this car has like new Michelin Alpine Winter tires!

M badge hehehe

After (no wax or claybar, just a good wash and detail)
