I mainly do it because i'd just rather not re-start, i'd rather let her idle. Pumping your own gas in NJ is illegal, so you never really leave your car. I never thought about back fires, definitely somethin i'll consider when I install MS. I'd say nearly 50% of people in NJ don't shut their cars off. Life moves fast in NJ, I wouldn't expect you hicks to understand.

I don't know how this turned into a car jacking/moral standings on killing someone over it argument, but the only times I've filled my car with it running is when the starter went, and I would have had to push start it to get it going again. And I don't fill it at that point. I leave my car running in places all the time, or just park it with the keys in it. If they want it bad enough, they're going to take it anyways, at least they'll have the keys and not break anything doing it :)
